Our Tour

Work with the Bee's

The day will start off arriving at the farm, there will be an introduction and tea/coffee to break the ice and everyone can introduce themselves. First part of the morning will be more like a classroom experience in my new honey house, I will discuss all aspect of beekeeping from equipment through to how beekeepers interact with the bees right through to how honey is made. There will be hands on experience looking and using equipment and of course tasting all the different types of honey I produce. Basically the first part of the day will be all the theory and q&s session.
Half way through we will break for another tea/coffee and have an informal discussion where guests can ask questions and everyone on the group can interact. After tea/coffee we will all get into bee-suits and go visit the bees here on my farm and everyone will get a chance to work with the bees as far as they are comfortable with.

  • Food – There will be a honey tasting experience showcasing all the different types of honey that I produce here and around Dublin and Wicklow at different times of the year
  • Drinks – Tea, coffee and some light treats on arrival to break the ice with an introduction
  • Equipment – All safety equipment for use when working with the bees will be provided, eg. bee-suit, gloves, etc. I suggest that each guest brings a pair of rubber boots or hiking boots as we will be walking through grass and it also aids with the protection from potential stings.
  • Beesuits will be supplied here at the farm, due to Covid they will be washed and sanitised after each use, disposable rubber gloves will be supplied for wearing under the leather gloves.
  • It is recommended that each person bring a pair of wellies..

An Experience with Bee & honey

Our 100% raw, local, Irish honey is available throughout the year. As these are seasonal some of the products, such as the pressed heather, is in limited supply and can likely run out. All the honey that is produced truly is 100%, raw, and local, being collected by Olly’s Farm honey bees from apiaries all around South Dublin and North Wicklow.

A young child in a beekeeping suit stands near an open beehive, surrounded by bees. An adult holds a smoker tool to calm the bees, while others in protective suits observe.
A wooden beehive labeled "OLLY'S FARM" stands in a garden with green leafy plants and a background of dense, leafy shrubbery.
A close-up of a beekeeping smoker releasing smoke, with a blurred figure in a white beekeeping suit and helmet standing in the background near a wooden fence and greenery.
Two beekeepers in protective suits and gloves inspect a frame from a beehive, filled with bees. Green beehive boxes are visible in the background on a grassy area.
