Experience the Honey

The day will start off when you arrive at the farm, there will be an introduction and tea/coffee to break the ice and everyone can introduce themselves. The first part of the tour will be a short talk on the farm and see what we are doing here, from being as self sufficient as we can through to the animals we keep, how we farm for nature and all about the bees we keep and honey we produce. We will have a walk of the farm, seeing the veg garden, orchard and paddocks where the livestock are kept. We are producing all our own food here in the farm from fruit & veg, to eggs, beef, pork and preserves and ferments.
There will be a tour of the honey house, see all the equipment from the beehive equipment right through to the processing room where the honey is taken from the frames and into the jars. We will visit the hives and talk through the beekeeping year and all the works thats involved in keeping honeybees.
The workshop will finish with a questions and answer session where guests will get to try a range of different honeys that I produce here on the farm.

  • Food – There will be a honey tasting experience showcasing all the different types of honey that I produce here and around Dublin and Wicklow at different times of the year.
  • Beesuits will be supplied here at the farm, due to Covid they will be washed and sanitised after each use, disposable rubber gloves will be supplied for wearing under the leather gloves.
  • It is recommended that each person bring a pair of wellies.

Afterward, we’ll take a leisurely walk around the farm, visiting the vibrant vegetable garden, the fruitful orchard, and the paddocks where our livestock thrive. Here, we’re passionate about growing our own food, from fresh fruits and vegetables to eggs, beef, pork, and our delicious homemade preserves.

At Olly’s Farm, your adventure kicks off with a warm welcome and a steaming cup of coffee or tea, perfect for sparking conversations. We’ll start with a brief introduction to our eco-friendly farming methods, the variety of animals we nurture, and our commitment to sustainable beekeeping. Then, we’ll meander through the farm, exploring our coluorful vegetable patch, the bountiful orchard, and the pastures where our animals flourish. We take pride in cultivating our own produce, from fresh fruits and veggies to eggs, beef, pork, and our delightful homemade jams.everyone on the group can interact.

After tea/coffee we will all get into bee-suits and go visit the
bees here on my farm and everyone will get a chance to work
with the bees as far as they are comfortable with.
